The MTN 8 victory give us confidence.
Platinum Stars coach,Allan Freese is happy man after his team beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 during the MTN 8 game played at the Loftus Stadium on Saturday.

Stars entered the game against Sundowns as defending champions after won the tournament last season.Now Freese believes that their victory against the Brazilians have given there much needed confidence ahead of the MTN 8 semi finals draw in Johannesburg on Monday.

"Its not that I am trying to be smart.We lost players last season and we have brought in new players this season."I am happy that we won and the players that are here now bring confidence going forward",says Freese. its that not try to be smart we have lost players and brought new players and I am happy that we won and the players that are here now bring confidence going forward.

We knew in the second half,Sundowns will come back and attack.We had to defend properly.I just think the goal we conceded whether was foul or not I don't know but we could have done better there",says Freese.

"There is no secret behind (doing well in Cup competations).Everything time when we play competition ,we play to win",he added.

"We knew Sundowns ha quality players and gonna come and play football.Our main aim and target was to look after Schut.He is dangerous player on air and good leader of the team and gave us problems",he added.

Freese also reserved special praise for new signing Ndumiso Mabena who scored during his debut for Dikwena in Pretoria on Saturday. "Its still early days but I am happy he scored against Sundowns yesterday",said the Dikwena coach
