At just 20 years old, the Rustenburg Goal Keeper is really doing well for his age and contributing a lot for Platinum Stars FC. Tshepo Mamabolo is a boy from Protea Park and his future looks bright as he is getting training from Stephane Ekakala, who is the Goal Keeper Coach at Platinum Stars FC. For the past two years, Mamabolo has been a part of the Platinum Stars FC’s Development and has represented the brand with pride at the MultiChoice Diski Challenge and is currently a regular player in the ABC Motsepe League.
Mamabolo is currently on camp with the South Africa’s Under 23 Squad that is due to leave for Palestine. “It was a shock to me! I was not aware that someone was looking at me and observing what I do. I have been loyal to Platinum Stars FC and I would be doing an injustice to the team if I do not thank them for the foundation laid in my career. Stephane Ekakala has been a dominant inspiration to me and I believe he has contributed so much into this whole thing. The journey is long but I am happy with the pace, it is a good one. God’s timing is perfect and I believe this is His time. So grateful and will make my name, I have to!,” Mamabolo on his National Under 23 call up.
The team will be playing an International friendly in Palestine and will leave for Brazil very soon. “I am delighted and over the moon. He listens when we speak to him and now he is reaping the fruits of his patience. I wish him all the best with the camp” Ekakala.
