We will get back to winning ways - Phiri
Platinum Stars midfielder Gerald Phiri says Dikwena will be on a mission to get back to winning ways when they take on Golden Arrows this weekend.

Dikwena and Arrows clash this Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup at the Princess Magogo Stadium, where Phiri feels a win will do Cavin Johnson’s men good.

“A win is going to be a big boost and a very important one because we need it. If we grind the results tomorrow, it’s going to push us to get better position in the league. We can’t be in the bottom half, we have to be in the top eight,” Phiri tells

Phiri knows that it won’t be easy for Dikwena to overcome Arrows, who are not easy customers.

“Arrows is a good counterattacking team but we have done our homework on them so let’s see how it all goes,” said Phiri, who added that Dikwena’s dream is to go far in the tournament.

“Against Polokwane City, the loss brought us down. We expected a win but we have been there and we got out of it. We have grinded results before. We are going for a win against Arrows. We expect to reach the final but it depends on luck. All we hope for is to get to the final.”

In recent matches, Dikwena have put on solid performances but were let down by goal scoring. Phiri says it’s a matter of time before goals come.

“We are creating chances but I think it’s a matter of luck. You know luck turns around so it’s a matter of time. We are creating a lot of chances but the ball is just not going into the net for us. It starts with one. The moment we score one, we will be on the roll,” said Phiri.

Kickoff is at 3pm.
