Dikwena chairman throws weight behind Johnson and his team
Platinum Stars chairman Cliff Ramoroa believes coach Cavin Johnson and his team can turn things around.

Though Dikwena are in a precarious position – 11 with 26 points, not far from the relegation zone, Ramoroa has expressed confidence in Johnson and the team moving up on the Absa Premiership table.

“We find ourselves in that position now and obviously it has been a rough season. We are left with five matches. I met the coach to give my message of support this week. He is energetic and looking forward to really turn things around. I believe that everyone will be pushing according to the plan that he would be presenting to them,” said Ramoroa.

“I believe the coach, his technical team and the players can be able to hold it until the end of the season. I strongly believe that we will be able to clinch a few games to be able to come out the situation that we are in now. The team is very strong. The coach and the team are looking forward to ensuring that things happen.”

Ramoroa has also noted the team’s exploits in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they made the grade by qualifying for the group stages for the first time in the history of the club.

“Considering the number of players and the material that we have, we have done exceptionally well to reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup. The coach and the team have done well with limited resources. This is good and I believe they will reach high levels within the CAF competition,” said Ramoroa.

This evening Dikwena will face African champions Mamelodi Sundowns in what promises to be an explosive Absa Premiership encounter at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. Ramoroa has called on Dikwena supporters to rally behind the team.
“People shouldn’t lose hope. We are still in shape. Five games have 15 points and we can clinch a number of points from there. This is the time that supporters should really be behind the team and they should give the coach and the players hope. We need them to rally behind the team and make sure that we remain in the PSL,” said Ramoroa.

Kickoff is at 6pm.
